Faragonda shows Roxy and the Winx the Alfea Natural Park, which she created to welcome the last specimens of Fairy Animals in the Magic Dimension. These species of animals are now free to live away from predators thanks to a magic barrier that can be crossed only by who has fairy powers... but, unexpectedly, an evil bird of prey enters the park. The Winx can't do anything about it and, although transformed, can't stop the bird of prey from abducting the last specimen of Digmole.

Faragonda is concerned: as each Fairy Animal has a special talent, they need to solve the mystery of the Digmole. In the Alfea of the past, Kalshara, a fairy with dark intentions, manages to have access to an old hall of the college: crossing a Wild Magic source, she becomes a shapeshifting creature, the first step to obtain the Fairy Animals Ultimate Power. All the Fairy Animals, scared because the natural source has been violated, run away from Alfea. Thanks to Faragonda, the Winx and Roxy get to the Valley of Fruits, where they save the Digmole species from the attack by Kalshara and her brother Brafilius, who want to trap the little animals to pursue their goal. Rescuing the Digmoles, the Winx obtain the Butterflix power.

Brafilius didn't manage to catch the Quillcat nor to find out if the animal has the Ultimate Power. Kalshara goes to Alfea alone and abducts Critty. The Winx find out too late about the abduction and they follow Kalshara led by the telepathic communication between Musa and the Quillcat. Once they get to the hideout, they fall into Kalshara's trap. All the Fairy Animals are under Brafilius' spell an surround the Winx menacingly. Among the animals, there is also the cocky Shinygreed Shiny who, thanks to the magic bonding with Stella, breaks the spell and together they make Kalshara and Brafilius run away. The Winx rescue all the Fairy Animals imprisoned by Kalshara.

Roxy asks the Winx for help: on the Earth, the Sumatran tigers are in danger because they are hunted by shapeshifting poachers, contaminated by a source of Wild Magic. At Alfea, Shiny and Amarok damage one of Roxy's techno-magic spheres. Tecna suggests the Winx to go and visit her parents on Zenith to repair it. Meanwhile Brafilius, in the ancient Zenith, analyses one of the Techquirrels (which feed the planet's core with energy) to understand whether it has the Ultimate Power, but his action makes the core unstable.
