As the summer draws near, sunscreen is vital to protect us from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. However, there are several common misconceptions around how we should use it.  Many believe that applying sunscreen once in the morning is enough to last the whole day. However, dermatologists say sunscreen will only last around two hours on dry skin and only 40 minutes on wet skin. Remember, you don't only need sunscreen when the weather is warm or when the sun is out in full force. It is important to wear sunscreen all year round, with the only time we are safe from UV rays being during the night. It's best not to mix sunscreen with foundation or other face creams, as this can dilute the active ingredients and reduce its sun protection effectiveness. Some think that if they do not burn in the sun, then they don't need to wear any protection. However, dermatologists say that there is no such thing as a safe tan and that a tan is your skin reacting to potential damage.
